Enterprise Grants and other Government backed initiatives |

Sittingbourne is in an Enterprise Grant area and SAS Ltd have completed a number of successful applications for the old RSA scheme and the new Enterprise Grant introduced in April 2000 on behalf of start up companies. This is a valuable source of finance for new businesses, raising grants against capital expenditure and for employment. |
| The DTI Small Firms Loan Guarantee scheme exists to help entrepreneurs finance a loan when they do not have collateral to borrow against. The DTI undertakes to become Guarantor for up to 80% of a company's bank loan and the company pays a quarterly charge to the DTI. |
| Research Grants, are available to industry and academic partners for innovation and novel research partnerships. Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) are particularly favoured in these partnerships and are actively encouraged to apply. SAS Ltd has considerable experience in applying for both SMART and LINK grants, in the administration of the quarterly claims and in preparing the annual submission to the company auditors. In the last two years there has been eight feasibility Smart and two development Smart grants awarded to SAS clients.
